Today i'll be reviewing My Bumble and Bumble hair care "Color minded" hair care set. This is going to be a bit of a long one, but there's so much to cover!
You hear people say and I always say, that expensive isn't always better quality. Well, in this case, you get what you pay for. I know this brand is pretty thick for the average wallet, which is why i was so excited to find out it actually delivered results. When it comes to hair care and makeup, i am not one to play Russian roulette and gamble my money away on the possibility it will be a flop. That was not the case with this set, let alone that i got it for free.
I thought this set was going to be mostly based on color treated hair, but surprisingly it did so much more than advertised.
Let's start off with the Sulfate Free Shampoo. I'd first like to point out that I have been wanting to try a sulfate free shampoo for a long time. They tend to be a lot pricier, which is what has stopped me from purchasing it. However, they have proven to be a lot nicer on your hair. Sulfate is the chemical that cleans well, but strips your hair of its oils and leaves it drier in the process. Being sans sulfate, i expected this shampoo to be void of lather, but that was not the case at all. Just the opposite actually. It had an overabundance. I am talking bubble bath lather, but i am a lather buff. I also buff with my lather ;)
On to the scent. One of the most important things! The smell was not overpowering or distinct. Not fruity or floral. It was just a light, pleasant, neutral smell that i liked even more once I blow dried my hair.
So, that was my experience in the shower. Once out of the shower, i towel dried my hair and put in about a quarter size amount of the Styling balm, with UV protection. I love that it has UV protection in it. Honestly, the sun can do a number on your hair, it's not just old age, product, and appliance use. The sun's heat rays penetrate the folicals just like they do our body.
I didn't feel an immediate difference when i put it on my hair. It had a light texture and the same light scent. The texture of lotion really. I wrapped my hair up in the towel and went to do my thing.
Then i came back and blow dried it. That is when i saw the beauty of these products shine, literally. My hair has a lot more shine. As i blow dried it, it felt so soft running my hands through it. I said to myself, "Wow, this actually works" When my head was fully dried i could see a lot of bounce and body. Not poofy body, just nice textured body.
The final touch was the Polish, also with UV protection. This really set it just like it said. It is a sealant and it definitely sealed the deal for me. It added more shine and luster. The thing i was most ecstatic about was the fact that it didn't curl my hair back up. (I blow dry my hair straight pretty regularly) I know i know. We aren't talking about that. ;) Most sealants/polishers/pomades give some ucky curl or wave after all that hard work. This just glided on my hair and didn't alter it.
I would not rave without pics. That is like talking about a blind date's looks. You can make anything sound attractive. Proof is in the pics.
Shining like bling bling..
I'll get a lot of use out of these travel sized products, before i have to pony up the dough.
Thanks so much Klout and Bumble & Bumble. You can find these products and more at Bumble and Bumble or other retailers.
