Love with Food is not only a foodie box but a charity box as well. For every box that you buy, they donate two meals to the victims of Hurricane Sandy. I love that they give back and don't charge and arm and leg to subscribe to their box.
The samples were 1 serving and bite sized, but ever so delectable. I actually like that they come in small portions, as I don't need to be scarfing down big ones. This helps me keep on track with eating better portions of sweet stuff. There were a lot of organic and little known companies in the mix that i'd never seen in stores and I discovered a lot of new places to shop.
A little about each item:
Candy cane truffles, by Kara Chocolates- I love anything minty chocolate and this was a perfect blend of the two. Smooth and refreshingly minty.
Honey Cinnamon almonds, by Nunes Farms- These were very tasty and not too sweet, but definitely not bland. I loved them.
Holiday Salt water taffy, by Taffy Town- I LOVE salt water taffy and to have them in flavors like spearmint and egg nog was unique and a nice change.
Mocha Mint Cappuccino, by Hills Brothers- Again, mint and chocolate are meant to be in every form, including liquid. It was yummy.
Chocolate tasting square, by Madecasse- A slightly bitter chocolate that is made from beans. I'd never had this before and it was really good.
Gingerbread Boy, by Nikki's Cookies- THIS was my second most favorite. You can't go wrong with a classic ginger bread cookie smothered in white chocolate.
Fleur de Sol Caramel Popcorn, by 479 Popcorn- Number one favorite of the whole bunch. This is no ordinary caramel popcorn. Much better than cracker jacks and most kinds that you find in your local supermarket. A lot tend to be caramelized and hardened too much or too sticky for your teeth, but these yummies weren't. The sticky factor is at a minimum and they are so airy and easy to bite into. They're also made with just the right amount of sugar. SO good. I'll definitely be getting more.
Overall, I enjoyed every single one of these treats and LOVED two of them. I will definitely be sticking to my monthly subscription and highly recommend you sign up too. It is well worth the $10 a month. Subscription boxes are getting better and better and I am thankful to be saving money by trying before I buy.
In addition, this box came with an unexpected few coupons, one of which was for ecomom.com for $10 off! That was a happy surprise. :)
If you'd like to purchase your own, you can do so here AND right now you can get $5 off your first box with code: YUMMY! I don't know how long this promotion will last, so i'd grab it while you can!
I did not receive this product for the purpose of review. Instead, I purchased this product with my own money and was delighted enough to contribute my opinion.
