Wantable Review

I love makeup. I cannot express this enough. When I discovered makeup subscription boxes, it was a whole new world for me. I love the surprise element, though it may not always be a good one, the anticipation is fun. I love the unique products I get to try before I buy to save money wasted on something I may not like. Since I have been trying out new subscriptions, I am sure I have saved a ton of money I otherwise would have spent in search of my holy grails.
Wantable is another subscription I came across. This one is different than most, in that they offer a jewelry box and a makeup box. What's also different is that they provide a quiz to answer everything that appeals to you. They ask you things like your favorite color, mediums and products that you'd prefer, then contour your box according to your choices and the items in stock. I do love the idea of this, but the execution wasn't quite what I expected.  The colors I picked were red, pink and something else, but definitely not orange or nude. For the most part, what I got seemed more random than anything.

The lipsticks were not really complementary to me so I swapped them with a friend for shades that better fit me. Gotta love swap groups, they save the day! The blush went on a really pretty light pink and the highlighter is nice as well. Great for the corners and outer corners of the eyes. The perfumes were unique and spicey with fruity notes. The grey purple polish goes on nice and I do like the muted matte color. Everything came with a convenient write up of all the products to learn more about them and what they're used for. I  thought that was a nice touch. However, I decided to e-mail the company and ask to try this again and they generously obliged so they are a company that wants their customers to be happy.

This is the second shipment. The dark purple polish shade is nice, but I have a ton of purple shades as it is. I don't use lip pencils often, but it's good to have on hand. The only thing I really liked was the pink lip gloss to the far left.

Overall, if you are part of a swap group, this would be awesome to subscribe to, but I am finding it a bit too pricey for me at $40 a pop or $36 a month for a yearly subscription price. If you have the money to spend, i'd say it is definitely worth it, because of their free shipping and free returns incentive. For me, it is too steep. One box is equal to $80-$100 of product. That is a steal if you get a lot of what you like. I have seen people get amazing boxes full of everything I would like, so it really is a gamble. THOUGH, something very important to note, they have JUST started offering the option of boxes showing exactly what you get and I have to say that March's box looks very pretty with all the pinks I love. If you don't like to gamble too much, then I'd say choose that. If you just have to have the surprise, take the quiz and take a chance! They do have free returns.
