3 ingredient Witches Brew Sangria. Plus, #BookOfLife Sweepstakes! #sp #World Market

Huge thanks goes out to World Market for sponsoring this post and discussion for #BookOfLife

I feel like sometimes I twiddle my thumbs all year waiting for Halloween. This is when the excitement kicks in for me. Be it cooking, making cocktails or simply back drops for the perfect party, I am your girl for the occasion. I wish that I could just design Halloween sets all year, but then again absence makes the heart grow finder so maybe once a year is just enough. About 99% of that excitement is being able to work with World Market to give you these amazing posts!

For this look I wanted to give the feel of a Witches kitchen or Mad scientists lab, or both in cahoots!  I created a table scape that would be perfect for parties and added the look of a little potion at work. With the witch and mad scientist's help, I was able to concoct a potion with a little bit of Eye of Newt, Spider Venom, Poison Apple, this and that and of course the main ingredient, brains! The potion consists of a small magic spell to ensure you have a good time. It simply keeps you in the Halloween spirit for the night.

As I was perusing World Market, I came across the tea aisle. I was looking for some new tea to try. I'm a tea head and a bit of a snob at that. I love all kinds of tea, but the one I most adore is Matcha green tea and real Matcha has a great green color. I saw they had a "Double Matcha" which i'd never tried before and thought it shouldn't disappoint. Then I happened across these gorgeous Dia De Los Muertos designed Wine bottles that I had to have.

At the time I bought the tea and wine, I had no idea that what I had just bought would be the focal point of my post! I was all ready to do a red eyeball soup and thought, nah, let's do something more fun.  I wanted a simple alcoholic beverage that screamed Halloween and I favored green over reddish orange, as it better suited the whole theme.

3 Ingredient Witches Brew Sangria

Since Halloween is fast approaching, I wanted to create a simple drink that you could whip up in a flash.

To start, I steeped the  3 cups of the green tea and cooled it off . Then mixed in 1.5 cups of the sweet white wine. (I added a bit more, up to 2 cups because I wanted it to be more potent tasting, but at 1.5 it is fine too) Lastly, I added 4 tbspns of honey to make it more sweet and it turned out quite good! The Double Matcha Tea created the perfect hue of green for what I wanted. A ghoulishly green that was the epitome of the occasion.

To top the whole look off, I added brain molded ice cubes to the mix to give it that mad scientist feel, resembling a brain preserved in formaldehyde. The black ceramic pot reminded so much of a witches brewing pot that it was perfect for holding the sangria.

Unfortunately these are the best shots I could get of the rapidly melting brain ice molds. They withered away faster than I expected, but at least you can detect the shapes to a degree. It looked pretty awesome. So when you use this idea, use an ice bucket or cooler to keep it cold!

An eerie, creepy but not too creepy, fun table scape for everyone to enjoy.

These blinged out spiders from World Market are FANTASTIC! They are a little creepy, yet really cute! And how gorgeous is that Dia De Los Muertos design on the wine bottle?!  Also,  the Name Your Poison glasses, Candelabra, candles and everything you see in front of you (sans the wall decor) is from World Market. All of it is just so pretty and high quality. They never fail at delivering the eye candy do they?

I love these ceramic skull measuring spoons. They're so cute as decorations in my kitchen. The 3 Holiday edition sodas (potions) you see here are SO good. I highly recommend you pick them up before they sell out!

This table scape and recipe is eerie, yet lots of fun, just like the movie, The Book Of Life. Which is what we are really here to celebrate and World Market is doing that by offering an AMAZING sweepstakes for several lucky people to win a host of prizes! Valued at up to $1000 and a trip to Grand Vela Rivera Maya!

The Book of Life was recently released October 17th and it has been receiving a lot of attention!

 About The Book of Life

Based on the cultural celebration of “Dia de los Muertos” (a day of remembering the memories of lost loved ones) Starring the voices of Channing Tatum, Zoe Saldana, Diego Luna, Danny Trejo, Cheech Marin, Directed by Jorge Gutierrez (El Tigre, Mad TV) and produced by Guillermo Del Toro (Puss in Boots, Kung Fu Panda, Pan’s Labyrith)

An animated movie of a Romeo and Juliet-inspired love story set during a Day of the Dead celebration: Manolo (Diego) is a young matador who wants to shed the expectations of his family to follow his dreams of being a musician and his best friend, Joaquin (Channing), is the successful pride of the town. They compete for the heart of Maria (Zoe). In order to win Maria’s heart and save her life, Manolo must face his greatest fears and follow his heart to rewrite his destiny.

I ABSOLUTELY adore Guillermo Del Toros Style and loved Pan's Labyrinth. This does not look like it will disappoint at all! It's cute enough for kids, but will appeal to adults too.

Good Luck!
